2022 Outdoor installation, Hautes-Alpes
Installed along a communal path, the map evokes the layering of vegetation, showing the more than 1,000 metres of elevation that separate the lower and upper parts of the commune, from the bed of the Durance river to the ridges of Serre-Chevalier.
Through stories shared by resident and the study of old maps, paths, streams, dates, former place names, and vanished spaces still present in local memory are etched into the zinc. An attempt to connect the history of the village, time, and geography: a landscape that transforms with the passing seasons.
